ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF MY CHRISTIAN NOVEL

“What is with this crazy place?” Megan Brewster, a toll attendant living in Claremore, OK exclaimed about the spiritual manifestations happening around her while on a trip to Cancun Mexico. “God, I want to go home!”

IF YOU ONLY READ ONE BOOK A YEAR, THIS IS THE ONE YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS!

Daughters of an Oklahoma small town minister, Megan and Sasha have no idea the events within their lives were manufactured all for this time. Unseen to them, a spiritual battle rages. One in which started within their family centuries before. A battle that is dependent upon these human players, as well as the extended family, remaining faithful to God. Lives all over the world, both physical and spiritual, hang in the balance.

I am happy to announce the release of my Christian book, HOUSE OF LISTER through eLectio Publishing on December 19, 2017, just in time for Christmas. Mark the date on your calendar, be sure to tell friends and generate buzz. Truly, this is one read you don’t want to miss!!

The big 5-0!

In 1967 Israel became a nation. They have been recognized as sovereign now for 50 years. On July 22nd of that same year, in a small Oklahoma hospital, I came to bless Lonnie and Tisha Linn with my presence. This is now a day I never imagined I would ever see.

It seems as if I only just started my life and I really have.

I had a great foundation. My parents brought me up in the fear and admonition of the Lord and were not afraid to mold my character when it needed it.
Even though prejudice was everywhere, they trained me to see beyond the outward appearance and identify with the spirit of an individual to the point I don't recognize tattoos, let alone skin color or accent.

The biggest liability of my adult life was spending
the majority of it waiting. Waiting for someone else's dream to be fulfilled before I could start mine, waiting for that big break, waiting for someone else to make my destiny happen.

My greatest achievement happened when my daughter helped me realize if I didn't show her how to make her dreams happen by making mine happen she would likely follow my same path. So I created a phrase and I live by it now:

"If it is meant to be, it is up to me!"

I set a plan for myself, let my imagination loose, obtained my degree and am living better now than I ever have. I don't have everything I want, bad things still happen, but the biggest goal I have is to keep myself firmly planted in God, live by my convictions and obey him. That is and has always been when i have been most blessed.

Happy July 22nd. It's always been a holiday for me.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

First of all, THANK YOU all veteran's of the United States for the sacrifices you and your family made for freedom here. Although it is not said enough, I thank you for my freedom.

Thank you to all the current military personnel continuing to fight for my freedom, and thank you for the hardship your family endures without you. Just doing your job makes you that kind of hero. Thank you is not enough, but at the moment it is the most powerful expression of my gratitude I can think to offer.

Lastly on this topic, thank you to all the fallen heroes for giving the ultimate, caring enough to defend the rights of this country and willing to pay whatever price that took.

All of you are heroes in my eyes.

This may be Memorial weekend, but it is my first book signing. I cannot begin to express how excited I am about doing this. I hope if you are traveling through Oklahoma, you will make a stop at the Will Rogers Archway which crosses the Will Rogers Turnpike by Vinita, OK and check out my new book, Savage Miracle. While there, get something to eat or drink from either of the restaurants within the archway. Then, make sure you check out the Gift Shop.

Nonetheless, stopping or not, have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

What's going on today?

So much has been going on. I still am looking for people to share with me their memories of miracles that are in the everyday form.

Today, though, I'm wanting to share with you what is happening with me. Today I have submitted to 2 different short story contests and will find out the winner's in August. I love these contests because they help keep writing sharp.

I am reading a book by K.R. Willis, called Blood Cure. Everytime I read her work I am blown away by her skill of writing.

The coolest thing, though, is my local newspaper ran an article announcing my first book signing which is scheduled on May 27, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Will Rogers Turnpike Archway. The local people around Vinita, OK know it as the big McDonald's across the Will Rogers Turnpike, formerly known as The Glass House. If you get the opportunity, come see me and check out my book.

By the way, if you get an opportunity check out my author's page with Amazon and let me know what you think.

Miracles Happen

It is May 15, 2017 and the day after Mother’s Day. The past few weeks have been interesting to say the least. Our little miracle child, Braydon Park Scott, who overcame the odds five years ago from a deadly disease that 99 percent of the people who contract it, are only diagnosed with it post mortem, passed away at the age of nineteen. One would think it would be because of complications from the disease. On the contrary, there were no signs that it was reoccurring. The disease, which at the time had totally emaciated him, took his ability to walk, talk, reason, and even swallow, he had beaten. He could walk, talk, eat, and although he wasn’t the same child he was before he got sick, the person he had become was much more likable, and just as sweet as he could be. He graduated from high school, was in his first year of college where his grades were great and had ambitions of being a nurse. He was even accepted into the nursing program where the director of the program stated that he would have made a great nurse. He had an attitude of It doesn’t matter if you like me or not, I like you and my goal is to make sure you know you are loved.
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, Braydon kissed his mother good night about 9:00pm, stating that he had church the next morning. He went to bed full of life, love, happiness, and health. When Sunday morning came, Braydon just was not anymore. It truly appeared as if the Lord called his name, he stood to answer, and just kept going up. In the ceremony celebrating his life, the matriarch of the family stood at the podium, and recited something she had written as if Braydon had told her specifically how things were going in heaven. Part of it said, “Everyone said I look like Papa. Here, Papa looks like me.”
I thought those words were just beautiful words. Later that same matriarch approached another sister and told her about a chest our father had built for her while in high school. She told our sister that she thought that chest needed to go back to his family, and asked her to retrieve it from her lake house garage. My sister asked me and my significant other to go and retrieve it with her with the intent of cleaning it up and giving it to our mother for Mother’s Day. When we got to the lake house, and opened it up, inside was a beautiful painting of our father from when he was in high school. His shimmering blue eyes greeted us from off of the canvas, as if to say, “Hello girls.” The one thing my sister and I knew immediately was that our aunt’s words were true. We knew it was our father’s image, but the face really did look like Braydon. We took that old chest home, cleaned it up, made sure the painting was in the chest, and then placed it in our mother’s home and called our mother and other two sisters. We told them that there was surprise in our mother’s home that would benefit our other two sisters as well, a surprise that even we didn’t know about until that morning. When they arrived, our mother noticed the cedar chest immediately, but she didn’t know it was built by our father. When we told her the chest was special and will be even more special when she opens it up and sees the item in it which indicates the chests maker, our mother slowly opened the chest and fell apart. Our other two sisters did too. We had a great time reminiscing afterward.
The reason for our crying was not out of hurt, but out of joy that these pieces entered our lives at this particular time. It was a miracle this chest and painting ever made it to us.
My blog spot is called mlwoodsmiracle. Miracles happen all the time. God uses the natural to perform miracles; we just have to open our eyes, see them, and receive them for what they are.

I challenge each and every one of you to see the everyday miracles in your path. Then, I invite you to share them here with me.
